School Expansion Proposal
We are pleased to be able to announce that we have received confirmation from the Department for Education that they have approved our proposal to create satellite provisions at Featherby Primary School and Bligh Primary School, creating an additional 48 places for children with special educational needs in Medway. As you can imagine we are absolutely delighted, although now there is a lot of work to do to ensure that the provisions are up and running by September 2021.
Over the next few weeks, the most important job we have to do is to ensure that all the children are rightly placed in preparation for the new academic year. We are currently in the process of liaising with Medway regarding pupil places so that we can confirm and finalise class lists. As I outlined within the consultation documentation, there will be children currently attending Danecourt that we feel would be best placed within the satellite provision from September 2021. The plan is that within the next few weeks should we believe that your child would be more appropriately placed within one of the satellite provisions, a member of the leadership team will be making contact with you to initiate discussions regarding placement for September 2021. These are decisions that we want to make in collaboration with parents/carers and will be based upon what we believe to be right for individual children.
