A note from the Chair

A warm welcome to the official web page of the Local Academy Council here at Danecourt!

Our Local Academy Councillors (LACs) play a crucial role in supporting and enriching the educational journey of the children at Danecourt. Each member of our LAC team is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of every child at Danecourt, as well as supporting other stakeholders including staff, parents and the wider school community.

We pride ourselves on being a vibrant and impactful LAC, and whether you are a parent, teacher, student, or a visitor curious about our community, we encourage you to discover below the positive impact we strive to create.

Our councillors come from a diverse range of backgrounds, including education, business, and the local community.  This brings a wealth of experience and perspectives to our school. They are not just council members, but active participants in our school community.

Our Mission

As LACs, the primary goal is to ensure that Danecourt School provides a nurturing, stimulating and effective learning environment. LACs are committed to upholding the school’s values and ethos, ensuring that all children are provided with a learning environment that allows them to explore to become ‘STARS’. They also oversee the school’s financial performance and offer support and challenge to the Executive Leaders, acting as a bridge between the school, parents, and the local community.

Governance at Danecourt

Whilst LACs are not a part of the day to day operations at the school, school governance at Danecourt is a dynamic journey that combines strategic leadership with a deep commitment to education and children’s welfare.

As councillors, we have three core functions. Firstly, we collaborate with the school leadership to set strategic priorities, ensuring they align with the needs of the children at Danecourt. Secondly, we hold executive leaders accountable for the educational performance of the school.  Our role involves monitoring and evaluating school progress, ensuring that the school constantly seeks improvement.  Lastly, we oversee the financial performance of the school, ensuring the school makes effective use of its resources to provide the best possible outcomes for the children at Danecourt, governance is the mainstay of support.

Get Involved

We believe that through collaboration we can achieve more.  If you have any questions, suggestions, or would like to be involved in our school community, please do not hesitate to contact us: t.awoyinfa@danecourt-maritime.org

Together, we are making a difference at Danecourt School.
