- help you to access information about difficulties you may be experiencing e.g. money, relationship, health etc.
- assisting with form filling
- offering group work and 1:1 sessions with children in school
The team consists of the following:
Charlotte Morgan – Community Ambassador
Working days: Tuesday & Wednesday
c.morgan@danecourt-maritime.org
My role is to facilitate building and developing connections with our local and wider community. My work includes collaborating with a range of local companies/charities to run initiatives which benefit our families and children in areas they most need. I listen to the challenges and barriers families face and help signpost them to what is available in the community to help. I research and advertise any SEN activities taking place outside the school which our children may like or information sessions that could be of interest to our families. I arrange a range of coffee mornings/events both at school and within the community that provide information about our local community and support for families. I am currently involved in developing a 0-5’s SEN initiative - SENDsational Start, that offers support and information to families and children before they start school. If there is anything in the community you or your child takes part in which may be of interest to other children/parents here please let me know.
Katie Togwell – Nurture Lead
Working days: Monday – Friday
k.togwell@danecourt-maritime.org
I work closely with classroom staff and my Pastoral Team colleagues to support children’s social, emotional, and mental health needs. Support is offered in a variety of ways, including access to the Nurture Room — a calm, structured environment where children can complete their work and take part in personalised interventions such as ELSA and Drawing and Talking. These interventions are designed to help children develop emotional regulation, confidence and self-esteem, as well as friendship and social skills. Teachers are able to refer children who they feel would benefit from additional emotional or pastoral support. In addition, I work with our Year 6 pupils to deliver the NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe programme and run group sessions focused on puberty, helping children understand their changing bodies and emotions. I have also completed specialised training in children’s grief and SEND, and I am the school’s bereavement contact for the charity Slide Away, which provides support for bereaved children.
Carly Tydeman – Parent Partnership Lead
Working days: Monday – Thursday
c.tydeman@danecourt-maritime.org
My role is to support families and children with any worries, concerns, or challenges they may be experiencing, whether at home or school. I understand that parenting a child with additional needs can sometimes feel overwhelming, and there may be times when you just need someone to listen, offer reassurance, or help you find the right support.
I am here to work alongside you, offering guidance, practical advice, and help in accessing other services where needed. This might include support around routines at home, emotional well-being, changes within the family, school attendance, or simply having a safe space to talk things through. You are very welcome to speak with me in school, over the phone, by email, or we can arrange a home visit if that feels easier for you. My aim is to make sure families feel heard, supported, and comfortable in reaching out for help. Along with the wider school team, I want our school to be a safe, understanding, and welcoming place for both children and their families.
Emma Tuckey – Social Worker
Working days: Monday – Friday
e.tuckey@danecourt-maritime.org
As the school‑based social worker, my role is to help ensure that every child in our school feels safe, supported, and ready to learn. I work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to promote children’s wellbeing and to make sure any safeguarding concerns are responded to promptly and appropriately. I’m also here to help families navigate support services, share information, and talk through any worries they may have.
